About Jenni
Jenni AdelmanOccupational Therapist
|
Jenni grew up in the Silicon Valley in California and received her undergraduate degree from San Jose State University with a BA in Child and Adolescent Development and an MS from San Jose State’s Occupational Therapy program in 2007. She has worked in private pediatric practice throughout her occupational therapy career and is so grateful to have found a profession and setting so well-suited to her passions and skills. Jenni has always known that she wanted to work with children, and while she initially intended to be an elementary school teacher, she redirected to occupational therapy due to the one-on-one interactions and the focus on supporting families with children who need a little extra guidance. She loves the active nature of the job, the ability to work closely with families, the creativity and problem solving, the relationships formed, and the holistic approach to understanding children. Jenni is passionate about the power of play and enjoys incorporating her knowledge from a wide range of certifications and techniques into meaningful, effective, functional, and fun therapy sessions that help children and families as they grow, learn, and change. Jenni has extensive training in Sensory Integration Theory, interventions, and techniques, along with training in Handwriting Without Tears, Therapeutic Listening, and the SOS Approach to Feeding. She feels strongly about viewing children through a strength-based lens, honoring neurodiversity, and facilitating change through successes, confidence building, and finding the positive.
When Jenni is not at work, she can be found spending time with her two daughters, her boyfriend, and their many pets. She and her family keep busy traveling, paddle boarding, skiing, biking, gardening, and working on projects around the house. Jenni loves coffee, puzzles, games, Disney, and houseplants!
